Philip is a litigator who began his career working in a general civil defense litigation boutique with Fortune 500 companies such as Home Depot and Simon Property Group. On behalf of those companies, and various insurance carriers, Philip defended cases involving wrongful death, premises liability, products liability, motor vehicle accidents, and general negligence claims. He also represented businesses in suits for breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation, and insurance coverage disputes. Philip began practicing family law in 2006 after a contested divorce of his own that left him with the desire to help men and women during the most difficult times of their lives. By 2008, Philip cemented his practice into family law. Since then, Philip has handled hundreds of family law matters including divorces, complex property division, the modification and enforcement of divorce decrees, paternity disputes, termination of parental rights, domestic adoptions, grandparent access, premarital agreements and separation agreements. Philip continues to call upon his work as a civil litigator, which imparted upon him a sophisticated understanding of the rules of procedure and evidence that many other family law attorneys simply do not have. Because he has been through a complicated divorce of his own, Philip provides his clients with a level of empathy that allows him to better understand the emotions that clients go through during the divorce process. This empathy often helps his clients to avoid unnecessary friction in their lives and the expense that goes along with it.
Philip is a 2001 graduate of the St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2001 in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown in 1998. Philip has served his community by coaching boys’ basketball teams and mock trial teams for honors students in Plano, Texas. Philip is married to Kelly Moore, with whom he raised three children in a blended household.
